Deacon Ministry

“So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, ‘It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.’ They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. So the word of God spread.” (Acts 6:2-4, 6, NIV)

 

The Deacon Ministry of Mount Olive Baptist Church serves alongside the pastor in caring for the spiritual needs of the congregation. Through prayer, pastoral visitation, communion preparation, and counsel, the Deacon Ministry supports the spiritual health of the church body. Deacons are ordained servant leaders who model integrity, faithfulness, and compassionate service. The congregation is organized into twelve tribes, named after the tribes of Israel, with each deacon assigned to shepherd the families within their tribe.

Deaconess Ministry

The Deaconess Ministry of Mount Olive Baptist Church provides compassionate care to members and families throughout the congregation. They serve during communion, assist in baptismal services, minister to the sick and bereaved, and offer support during times of personal need. The Deaconess Ministry works in close coordination with the pastoral staff and the Deacon Ministry to ensure that every member of the church family is cared for.

Trustees Ministry

“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” (1 Corinthians 4:2, ESV)

 

The Trustees Ministry oversees the stewardship of the physical and financial resources of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Trustees are responsible for the care and maintenance of the church property, the management of financial assets, and the administration of legal and insurance matters. Their work ensures that the resources entrusted to Mount Olive are managed with integrity and accountability for the benefit of the congregation and the community it serves.
